Hall County, Georgia (CNN) A federal judge ordered a halt to the lockdown at the Hall County jail in Georgia after the death of an inmate at a women’s prison in the state.
Hall County Sheriff David Biddle told reporters Friday that the lockdown was lifted and people are being allowed back to their homes.
Biddle said it was too early to determine the cause of death of the inmate.
The lockdown has been lifted at the Halls County Jail, according to a release from the Hall county Sheriff’s Office.
The lockdown has resulted in the closure of several areas, including the jails office, and other services, including visitation centers, the release said.
Baldwin was in the custody of the Hall jail after she had been arrested for a felony.
She was released on bail Thursday after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of assaulting her boyfriend.
The jail had locked the doors to the jail on Friday morning.
The sheriff’s office said it will remain closed until further notice.
